Come celebrate SACR's 25th Anniversary (February 1988 to February 2013) as an active canine rescue. We easily underestimate that we have saved or networked 2000 to 2400 dogs in that time frame; dogs who were placed in furever homes.

We now post corgi and sheltie mixes on our website for direct adoption from shelters so we are "still active". We currently have four (non-corgi) dogs available for adoption. Some be available for meet/greets at our

25th Anniversary Potluck Picnic

May 25, 2013

11am to 3pm

We will have two contests:

The first is a costume competition which celebrates "all the holidays of the year" even the less celebrated ones. Your Choice - which gives a lot of variety.

The second contest will be a doggie talent contest. We had some great talent at our first competition last October.

We will have three categories for judging:

Most Original or Creative

Most Elaborate or Fancy, and

Best Human-Canine Combination.

There will be lst, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category awarded by three judges.

Dogs must be contained at all times: leashed, x-penned, or crated.

Please bring seating for yourself.

We will have a 25th Anniversary sheet cake, so please, no more desserts (except fresh fruit!)

All paper products for the potluck will be provided as well as water for the dogs.

There will be a Memory Board with photos of our dogs who await us at the Bridge. If there's somedoggie you'd like to add to the board, please bring a picture.

SACR Adoption Process includes:

completion of a pre-adoption application; homecheck; two week or longer trial period; followup visit if applicable (not for long distance placements; adoption contract; adoption donation (as posted on each dog's bio); and, lifetime return of our adopted dogs.

SACR looks for forever homes and only places our dogs with families with children under the age of 8 years if they are extremely well-mannered, with diligent parents who supervise the youngsters with the dogs at all times.

Because both purebred corgis and corgi mixes are our speciality, we recommend a book called "Everything Corgi" which you can order on line at the CorgiAid Book Store. Sales benefit CorgiAid, a nonprofit organization founded to provide financial assistance to corgis and corgi mixes rescued from shelters or other non-permanent homes.
